Dr. Norman Rubin, Tucson Dentist

"I grew up on the streets of Brooklyn, and enjoyed much of the stimulating cultural happenings that New York City has to offer.  One summer I took a job working for the Parks Department and was assigned to help supervise a fishing contest for children in Prospect Park.  It was a learning experience to meet so many kids of many different backgrounds, to weigh and measure their catches, and to watch the joy on their faces as pictures were taken of them with their fish.  It was then that I realized the pleasure of working with families.  After graduating from Brooklyn College and NYU College of Dentistry, I enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Holloman AFB in Alamogordo, NM.  Our relocated young family loved the open spaces of the Southwest, the hiking, the panoramas, the friendly people and “the dry heat."

"We have a lot of fun, and I look forward to each day spent with our accomplished and friendly staff."

Dentistry is a stimulating profession.  I am constantly learning new techniques, supported with advances in equipment and materials.  There are three things I love about our practice.  First is the ability to treat people comfortably.  Newer Digital x-rays, laser cavity detectors and intraoral cameras allow us to find early evidence of disease.  We can then treat it, less invasively and sometimes even without anesthetics and with total comfort.  When children understand that they will have a good dental experience, I feel gratified.  Second is the honor we have been given by patients referring and bringing their children and grandchildren to us, and we delight in being there for generation after generation.   It is like watching our own children and grandchildren grow with our office Third, I like to hum when I work.  It is very calming for me and patients, who have said so as well.  Occasionally, a patient will hum along with me while I am working.  That is quite a feat.
